A blog is a type of website that is read like a logbook or a personal diary due to its unique way of functioning. Generally, a blog has articles grouped according to their publication dates, with the most recent articles listed first. The term blog comes from the contraction of the words “web” and “log” (logbook).

Articles (also called “posts”) are written by members of the domain name owner’s site (the name appearing in your browser’s address bar) and can include very varied content depending on the themes chosen by the blog administrator. Most of the time, articles contain text, but it is not uncommon to find comic strip blogs, video blogs, photography, fashion, or cooking blogs. Furthermore, the term “blog” comes from the contraction of the terms “web” and “log”. In the computing world, the English word “log” translates to “logbook”.
